A call to accompany the next generation

The digital world is already shaping young hearts.
Who will walk with them?

Digital missionaries are more than people who share content online. They are trusted witnesses who help children and young people discover Christ, ask honest questions, and live their faith in the digital world they actually inhabit.

DIGITAL MISSION PRAYER

Lord Jesus

You walked among people, sharing truth and love (Matthew 4:23). Now walk with us as we journey the digital highways. Grant us wisdom and courage (James 1:5) to post, to speak, and to share as witnesses of Your Word (Mark 16:15).

Let our words sow seeds of hope (1 Peter 3:15) and our online presence radiate the peace You promised (Matthew 5:9).

Lord, transform this digital world. Shine Your light into the dark side of the web, and dispel the shadows with the imprint of Your grace (Colossians 3:17).

Lord, bless our mission online. Through every click, every comment, and every connection, may we bring glory to the Almighty Creator. Amen.

Why become
a digital missionary?

Saint Carlo Acutis showed how ordinary gifts and modern technology can be placed at the service of God. His example invites us to make the digital world a place where goodness, truth and the love of Jesus can be encountered.

Following his example, we can use our online presence with purpose: to encourage young people, share the beauty of the Gospel, and help others discover that faith belongs in everyday life — including the digital world.

Sr. Dr. Sonia P. Thomas, SDS

For more than two decades, she has had the privilege of walking alongside children, adolescents, and young adults through the challenges of growing up. As a psychotherapist, she brings together psychology, education, and faith formation, and through her work, she has seen how deeply the digital world can shape young lives. Through Salvecare, and in her work with schools, colleges, teachers, catechists, and parents, she continues to explore ways of supporting young people with both professional understanding and faith. This book has grown from that journey — a desire to help adults accompany young people with compassion, wisdom, and hope in a rapidly changing digital world.

With decades of experience in the software industry, she brings a deep understanding of how digital platforms shape human behaviour, especially among young people. This experience has led her towards a deeper calling to empower young people to navigate the digital world with awareness and responsibility, while using technology as a means for value centred and faith driven growth. She believes that, when guided with intention, digital platforms can become bridges rather than barriers to a young person's deeper sense of purpose.

Two voices. One mission — to help young hearts find Jesus in the digital age.
